We want to thank you for the parking tokens given to us while one of our twin girls spent 3.5 months in the NICU at Children's Memorial. Samantha had a number of serious surgeries while she was there and as most have said parking was the largest expense! Recently Sam and Kate celebrated their 1st birthday and versus gifts we asked for donations for parking! We have made a donation and hope it will help another family! It is such a stressful time being there and the parking token brightened our day! Thank you!
My husband is here undergoing a stem cell transplant. It has been, needless to say, a roller-coaster, for the past two months.
Not how we planned on spending Christmas 2011. But with hope everyday will be Christmas after this and we will return home to Florida. A gentleman came into our room on G11 and gifted me one of Emma's Hugs/SmartChip and a hug. The wonderful gesture was more than a monetary gift, it made me feel I wasn't alone. Especially so after I read the other email on your site. Funny, huh? So many people here and sometimes these hallways seem so lonely. Thank you for the hug, it means a lot, especially now, under the circumstances, you can't hug the one you love.
Hugs back at ya!

My daughter will be here at MD Anderson for the next month while she has a second transplant. Yesterday, someone brought us a pre-paid parking chip from Emma's Hugs. A HUGE thank you for this unexpected support.

My partner has had a hard battle with leukemia, underwent a cord blood transplant, and has been in the hospital for a month due to complications, she will probably be in here close to another month even though we are on our way to recovering...there was a time we weren't so confident...Emma's Hugs came through and handed out a weeks worth of pre-paid parking with unlimited in and out ability....that was a HUGE gift for us....to take a small, yet significant burden off our shoulders during a very hard and trying time. Thank you so very much for the generosity! I cannot wait for the day that we are able to pay it forward! MD Anderson patient

I was blown away by a visit from Emma's Hugs representatives. Thank you so much for the valuable parking token. I received it the day before my teenage kids were arriving to visit for Christmas. This holiday was very different for us with my husband in the hospital. The token allowed my kids to come and go for visits over the holiday. Thank you so much! I am eager to pass on the hugs. --Vicky,  at MD Anderson

Our 3 year old son Joshua was born with a significant heart defect and has
had two major open heart surgeries since his birth. He has had several
other procedures and hospitalized many times. Joshua will require a heart
transplant so we have many more trips to the medical center ahead. We were
so blessed to receive such a wonderful gift of kindness. It was such a
special feeling that Emma's Hugs reached out to our family. We are truly
thankful for your support. Thank you so much! Carol & Steven

I just received the parking token, here on the 10th floor at MDA.  I was so surprised by it, I don't know if I properly thanked the couple that delivered it.  This was one of the most touching moments of my life.  I am caregiver to my beautiful wife, Ann who has been a patient here off and on since 1996.  Thank you!

We were blessed to receive a hug from Emma by our social worker.  Our twin baby girls were born early and are in the NICU at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this blessing.  God Bless you and your family!

Yesterday a special person came by and gave my husband a Hug.  He is at MD Anderson getting a stem cell transplant.  This is not where we planned to be at Christmas this year, but we're hopeful for a full recovery, so it's worth it.  Our daughters are able to come visit for a few days and we were JUST thinking about the added cost of them parking in the garage as well.  The perfectly timed and unexpected gift of a parking token is the perfect Christmas gift!  Thank you so much!

My husband was receiving a transplant for leukemia at MD Anderson and was surprised to learn while he was in the hospital that he had won a parking pass.  What a terrific hug!  Thank you so much!

I just wanted to pass on my gratitude for the hug as well as the parking token. My wife gave birth to our twins at just over 24 weeks gestation and since then we have spent almost every day in the NICU at Children’s Memorial Hermann. As you can imagine parking has been our biggest out-of-pocket expense since their arrival. My wife and I whole heartedly thank you for the act of kindness Emma has passed on to us.
Sincerely,
Daniel & Kelly

We have been at MD Anderson for more than a month. This is my husband's second stem cell transplant and it has been a very rocky one. Imagine our surprise today, March 1, 2011, when we were stopped by a kind young man who asked if we parked in the lots here. We said yes and then he handed us a card with a parking chip attached. We were amazed and so thankful and quickly looked up Emma's Hugs online. What a lovely tribute to little Emma. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

My husband was in MD Anderson Hospital recovering from a stem cell transplant.  We were greeted during one of our hall walks by a nurse and a "civilian."  "What test now?," I thought.  Like manna from Heaven, it was a complete surprise - HUGS and a parking token!  You were a ray of sunshine and a welcome bit of relief from the unrelenting parking fees. As square dancers, we know how uplifting hugs can be. (We start and end each square dance tip by hugging the other dancers in the square.).  Your hugs were especially great since they were so unexpected.
Thanks so much!

Last week my mother had surgery at St. Luke's and when I was leaving the hospital I was hugged in the parking garage. What a suprise!  I had never heard of Emma's Hugs, but what a wonderful thing to help families. Parking is expensive and also food.  I know there are many people that need your help.  I will definitely donate.
Thanks again!!!!

What a Wonderful Hug!!! I received a parking chip yesterday from a charge nurse. My daughter had her baby girl at Hermann Memorial Children's Hospital, born preterm. This has been hard on us, especially since I'm the only source of income and out on medical leave, which no longer pays me. I had never heard of Emma's Hugs. I wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH from the bottom of our hearts! ~Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital patient

Just want to thank you for the great things you do. Ashley is my daughter. You guys have really been a blessing for all our family. ~ M.D. Anderson patient

Thank you very much for the parking assistance. We are from San Antonio, and my son is awaiting a transplant. We have to be here 90 to 100 days, so everything helps. Thank you! ~ M.D. Anderson patient

We will be here for three months. This will really, really, help. Thank you so much for blessing us. God bless you and your family. Thank you very much! ~ M.D. Anderson patient

My name is Antonia, and I am Ashley's mom. She was dignosed with leukemia in May, 2010. She needed to stay in the hospital for many days. I just wanted to say thanks for the parking chip, because it really, really helped us a lot. Thank you. ~~Texas Children's patient

How can one say thank you for the services you provide! My son has a mitochondrial disease. He is 6 years old and has spent about a 1/3 of his life in the hospital. The cost of parking is astronomical. At our last admission to Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital, we were given a prepaid parking token that was donated by your foundation. I cannot tell you how much it meant. To take away one little stress means so much.

Thank you for all you do!

Alison
